Concrete base extensions across Surrey

Need a bigger
shed base?

Your existing concrete slab may be a useful starting point. We assess whether we can extend your concrete base to fit a larger shed, log cabin or garden building.

Concrete base extensions

Extend your base.
Keep what works.

If your base is too short, too narrow or the wrong shape for your next building, a concrete slab extension may avoid removing a serviceable base.

We look at the existing concrete, levels, visible damage and the new building's requirements before recommending an extension. If the old base is unsuitable, we'll explain the alternatives.

What we assess

  • The condition and suitability of the existing slab.
  • The dimensions and position of the larger building.
  • Ground, access and the space around the base.
  • How the new section should meet the existing concrete.
  • Levels and any ramp or entrance requirements.

The connection and construction details depend on the site. We agree the approach after assessment.

A real extension · Yateley

A larger base for an incoming log cabin.

The existing shed base was sound, so we extended around it instead of removing it. Retaining the slab reduced avoidable demolition and waste.

The customer saved around £1,000 compared with the alternative quote for that particular job. Savings depend on the condition of the base and the work required.

Useful to know

Your questions, answered.

Can any concrete base be extended?

No. We first assess the condition, levels and suitability of the existing base for the proposed building. Keeping an unsuitable slab could compromise the result, so replacement may sometimes be the better option.

Will the old and new concrete look the same?

An extension can have a visible joint and a different colour or finish from the original concrete. We’ll discuss the finish and levels during the site visit.

Is extending cheaper than replacing?

It can reduce demolition, disposal and replacement work when the existing base is suitable. The final cost depends on your site and the extension required; we provide a quote for the agreed work.

Can you add a ramp to my existing base?

Yes, we also assess and quote for ramps onto existing slabs. Send a photo of the entrance, the space available and what you need to move onto the base.
